Esme lives at Small World
Books at Venice Beach. She was born in 1995, and came to the book store as
a kitten. She can go in and out as she pleases, but she doesn't go very far.
She's a very friendly kitty who likes to greet the customers and get pets.
She lives at the store all the time, so when the store opens in the morning
she is very excited to see everyone. To show how excited she is, every morning
she will jump straight up in the air with her fur all standing up. But sometimes
the store gets a little boring for her, so she gets to go on a "field
trip." These consist of being carried to the basement or the attic of
the store so she can sniff around a bit. She stays about half an hour and
they come back to get her. She was chosen as one of the best shopcats
in Los Angeles for 1998 by the LA Weekly.
